Under the guise of “tax relief,” many governments impose costly and regressive taxes such as the corporate income tax on corporations, tariffs, and payroll taxes (social security and Medicare taxes). The aim of this blog is to explain the differences between values and budget cuts and identify the simple math behind the passage of tax cuts.
Each year, governments borrow in the name of deficit spending. By doing so, they tell us they care about their people and their economy. The real fact is that these are often false promises because in most cases, governments borrow money to do things that are not necessarily beneficial to their people. In a sense, they are now borrowing to create jobs or to invest in things that will create jobs. In other words, they are taking money from the future (future generations) and giving it to the present (short term).
What is the effect of this money printing?
What will happen is the present government has money it can no longer pay back because it takes the money from future generations. The government is giving money to itself. It is a present day spending cut. It gives the present government more money now to spend in the short term.
As a result, there will be less money in the future for future generations. When future generations earn their income, they will have less money to spend because the present government has already taxed it away.
The effect of this cycle is a future with less money, which in turn causes a budget crisis. This is the general be359ba680
